Saint Jose Maria Robles Hurtado (1888-1927) was a priest of the Archdiocese of Guadalajara, Mexico, who founded the Congregation of the Handmaids of Saint Margaret Mary and of the Poor before being arrested and executed at Quila, Jalisco, in 1927 during the government’s severe persecution of the Catholic Church in the Cristero War era. He is honored among the Saints of the Mexican Cristero martyrs.
