Where Things Stand Today

As of 25 August 2026 this site carries no advertising and no affiliate links, and has not joined any affiliate programme. This page sets out the policy that will apply when that changes, so that it is written down before there is any money involved rather than after.

How the Site Is Funded

Catholic Repository costs money to run – hosting, a domain, and software. At present those costs come out of our own pocket. In time we expect the site to be supported by a combination of reader donations, modest advertising, and affiliate commissions on Catholic books and goods.

What an Affiliate Link Is

An affiliate link is a link to a shop that pays us a small commission if you buy something after clicking it. The price you pay is exactly the same. If we recommend a particular Bible, rosary or book and link to a shop that sells it, that link may earn us a few percent of the sale.

Our Commitments

• We will always tell you. Any page containing affiliate links will say so clearly on the page itself, not only here.
• Money will never decide what we teach. No advertiser or merchant will ever influence how a page explains Church teaching. What the Church holds is not for sale, and neither are we.
• We will only link to things we would recommend anyway. If we would not give it to a friend, it does not go on the site.
• Some pages will stay clean. Pages people come to in grief or crisis – prayers for the dying, prayers after a death, the pages on suicide, miscarriage and serious illness – will not carry advertising or affiliate links. Selling next to someone’s worst day is not something we are willing to do.
• Everything stays free. No prayer, no answer and no page on this site will ever be put behind a payment or a sign-up.

Advertising and Cookies

If we introduce advertising, it is likely to be through an advertising network such as Google AdSense. Such networks use cookies to serve adverts and measure their performance, and may personalise adverts based on your previous browsing. You can control this through your browser settings and through Google’s own advert settings. Our privacy policy will be updated with the specifics before any advertising appears.

Donations

Reader donations are the form of support we would prefer, because they carry no strings and no cookies. Donations are voluntary gifts toward the running of the site. We are not a registered charity and donations are not tax-deductible.
