The Sacrifice Prayer
Rosary Prayers
Fatima, 1917
Offered through the day, whenever something is hard.
Our Lady taught the children of Fatima to say this whenever they made a sacrifice — turning a small unpleasantness into an offering. The children used it constantly: heat, thirst, mockery, chores.
The Prayer
O Jesus, it is for love of You,
for the conversion of sinners,
and in reparation for the sins committed
against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
How to Use It
Pray it in the moment: the traffic, the interrupted sleep, the person who is hard to be around, the ache you did not mention. Nothing is wasted that is offered — that is the whole point of the prayer, and the reason it takes five seconds.
About This Prayer
It is the most practical thing to come out of Fatima. The great devotions require time; this one requires only that you notice what is already happening and hand it over. Anyone can pray it, all day, without adding a minute to their schedule.
