Morning Offering
Daily Prayers
Offered to God at the beginning of each day.
The Morning Offering is a prayer in which Catholics consecrate the entire coming day — their prayers, works, joys, and sufferings — to God through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass celebrated throughout the world.
The Prayer
O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, in reparation for my sins, for the intentions of all my relatives and friends, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father. Amen.
About This Prayer
This form of the Morning Offering was promoted by the Apostleship of Prayer, founded in 1844 by Father François Gautrelet, S.J. The prayer expresses the Catholic conviction that ordinary daily life — offered to God — becomes a participation in the redemptive mission of Christ.
